Die Universität Toronto hat ein „Call for Papers“ für ein Symposium veröffentlicht, die sich vom 21. Mai bis 23. Mai 2017 mit der besonderen Rolle von Religion zwischen den Weltkriegen und für den Holocaust beschäftigen wird. Deadline für die Anmeldung ist Samstag, 1. Oktober 2016.

„The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Chair of Holocaust Studies, University of Toronto invite scholars, including advanced graduate students, to submit applications for a symposium on religion and ethno-nationalism in the first half of the 20th century.

The symposium will conduct a broad comparative and transnational examination of the intersections of religion, ethno-nationalism, fascism, antisemitism, and violence during this period. By analyzing the ways in which religious groups, institutions, and networks engaged political and social upheaval in and beyond Europe, we hope to identify broader patterns that can deepen our understanding of the dynamics shaping the roles of religious actors before and during the Holocaust.”
